This course focuses on the therapeutic way of understanding and teaching children and young people about sexuality, sexual health, and sexual development with a very much young person-focused approach and techniques to be used day to day.

Young people in the care system may be more likely to become sexually active and will need additional support to develop healthy sexual and romantic relationships.

The main learning objectives of the course are as follows:

  1. To know more resourceful and creative approaches to addressing the questions and dilemmas young people have around sexuality and sexual health
  2. To understand the importance of supporting the development of a young person’s sexuality
  3. To understand the different stages of sexual development and therapeutic ways to work with the young people at these different stages
  4. To know practical tools that you can use in your work

This course provides professionals who work with children and young people the means to advance their knowledge of therapeutic care.

Upon booking this course, we will discuss the learning objectives and outcomes you wish to achieve based on the young people in your care.

Should you wish to discuss your needs before making a booking, please call 0800 774 7874.
